About Us
Meet the Pastor
Mark L. & Nikki Hina
At 19 years old, God filled me with his Spirit and changed my life completely. I began walking with God and followed the footsteps he made for me in my personal relationship and ministry.
I married the love of my life, Nikki in 1991 and together we have lived for God fulfilling any role or opportunity to serve others and the Ministry. We have been blessed with four sons and one daughter and have incorporated them into the work of God as we served.
In 2009, we were installed as Pastor of The Temple Ministries and for Eleven years God has moved in so many ways! New churches established, lives changed, and moving forward with a vision to reach all four counties that surround us! My desire is to serve God’s people and do as Christ commanded….”Feed my Sheep”.
Assistant Pastor
Donald Gilroy
THE SIDNEY APOSTOLIC TEMPLE,” The Temple “, began with Robert and Phyllis Fries moving their family from Piqua, Ohio to Sidney in 1972 with a calling to start a work for the Lord. In 1973 the doors opened in Sidney, Ohio holding services in a remodeled three car garage. With only their three daughters and son on the way, this work of the Lord began.
One year later to the date the first person received the Holy Ghost. The Lord continued adding to the church, and in 1976 construction began on the first phase (our first sanctuary) in our current location. The second phase was adding a vestibule to the sanctuary and in 1996 we began phase three which was the construction of our current sanctuary today. In the year 2000, phase four was an expansion for offices, a conference room, and classrooms.
IN MARCH OF 2009, Pastor Robert L. Fries retired and The Temple transitioned Pastor-ship to his son in law Pastor Mark L. Hina and wife Nichole. With four sons and one daughter, they received the mantle and began doing the work of God. In 2010, expanded parking and renovation of church property was needed for growth.
God has continued the growth of The Temple Ministries with just a family in the beginning, and now The Temple of Sidney averages 250 plus every Sunday. With a vision from God to begin campus works in four surrounding counties, multiple campuses has been added to The Temple. A Hispanic church was opened in 2011, Temple of Quincy in 2012, French Work in 2017, Temple of St. Paris in 2019 and Temple of Rumley in 2020.
The Temple of Sidney is now a hub to help strengthen, finance, provide ministries and any other resources needed to get a campus work off the ground and stabilized. While all the time helping a new campus, we grow stronger for as we serve others, we ourselves are fed.
